DR. SRIKANTH GARIKAPARTHI

Plastic, Reconstructive, Hand & Cosmetic Surgeon 

Dr Garikaparthi, the eldest of three children was born to Mr. Uday Sankar and Mrs. Vijaya Lakshmi on 23 May 1968 in Hyderabad, India. He is board certified in both General Surgery and Plastic Surgery. He also had additional fellowship training in Hand Surgery and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

He moved to the Bahamas in 1999 to join the Department of Surgery at the Princess Margaret Hospital as a Trauma, General and Plastic Surgeon. He established the Plastic Surgery unit with a dedicated clinic, operating time and burns unit offering a wide array of reconstructive surgery to patients with trauma, infection, cancer or burns. With the return of Dr Colleen Fitzcharles to the Bahamas the plastic surgery services expanded to treat patients with Hand problems and provide comprehensive Hand Surgery. 

Dr Garikaparthi also is the Lecturer in Surgery at the University of West Indies, School of Clinical Medicine and Research, Bahamas Campus since 2002. He loves teaching and likes to share his knowledge and skills in training young Bahamian doctors at both the undergraduate (MBBS) and postgraduate (DM) levels.

Dr Srikanth as he is affectionately known and called is happily married since 1996 to Kavita Garikaparthi - a trained Psychological Counselor. They have two kids – Achintya and Anouksha. When he is not busy working at the hospitals and office or teaching he spends his time with family and friends or enjoying reading a book on the pristine beaches of the Bahamas.
